Shedeur Sanders is trending across social media once again—but this time, it's not for his arm strength or highlight-reel throws. The Cleveland Browns quarterback and son of Coach Prime just reached a major milestone off the field, and the numbers are turning just as many heads as his game tape.
On Saturday, Sanders returned to the University of Colorado for the last time as a student-athlete, walking across the stage to officially receive his sociology degree—a full year after leaving the program to enter the NFL. The moment, shared by Colorado Buffaloes Football on X, sparked an outpouring of congratulations, but it was his final GPA that really stole the show: a sparkling 3.9.
That near-perfect mark puts Sanders in elite company alongside his favorite CU target, Travis Hunter, who graduated with a flawless 4.0 GPA. The difference? Sanders earned his degree a year after Hunter, but both have already had their jersey numbers retired by the school—a rare honor that speaks to their impact both on and off the field.
For the Sanders family, this was a moment of pure pride. Deion Sanders now has four of his five kids with college degrees, with Shelomi Sanders recently moving back to Colorado to attend CSU Pueblo. "Let's focus on what truly matters in life," Shedeur shared, "and bring others along so we can elevate each other mentally, physically, and spiritually."
Of course, Sanders' on-field legacy at Colorado is nothing short of historic. Despite playing just two seasons under his father in Boulder, he owns over 100 school records, including career passing touchdowns, passer rating, and completion percentage, plus two of the top three seasons for passing yards and touchdown passes. His rookie year with the Browns saw him throw for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns, though he'll face stiff competition from Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel to keep his starting spot heading into next season.
But for now, the focus is on a different kind of victory—one that will last long after the final whistle blows.
