Another thrilling season of Marco Island Senior Softball has wrapped up, and it's time to celebrate the heart of the game: the teams and the people who lead them. This week, we're shining a spotlight on the competitive spirit and camaraderie of the Island Division.
We tip our caps to the dedicated team managers who keep the league running smoothly. A huge round of applause for Ricky Cuevas of Dolphin Tiki, Mike Schwab of Salty Dog, Todd Rogers of Nacho Mama’s, Ed Seery of DaVinci’s, Gary Grefer of Verdi’s, and Tom Vander Aarde of Speakeasy. Their leadership is what transforms a group of players into a true team.
Of course, the game isn't possible without a full roster of support. A massive thank you extends to the assistant coaches, passionate players, loyal families and fans, our expert umpires, and all the booth volunteers. Special recognition goes to Bill Cookson from City Parks & Rec, whose meticulous field maintenance ensured perfect playing conditions for every single game day.
Stay tuned as we continue to highlight the league's champions and community heroes. In upcoming features, we'll be showcasing the teams from the Marco and Gulf Coast Divisions.
