The march to Sulphur is reaching its peak as baseball enters the quarterfinals this week and over in softball, tickets have already been punched to the semifinals.

After 28 baseball and softball Lafayette Parish and its surrounding area teams enter the LHSAA playoffs each with the hopes and dreams of surviving and advancing.

With a couple of postseason rounds in the book, only three area softball teams and 13 area baseball teams remain on the journey to Sulpur. Here’s a roundup of the baseball and softball matchups happening across Louisiana in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the LHSAA playoffs.

No. 5 Loyola Prep at No. 4 Acadiana Renaissance Charter

No. 13 Ascension Episcopal at No. 4 St. Martin’s Episcopal

No. 16 Central Catholic at No. 1 Opelousas Catholic
