The 2026 Section V girls track and field season is underway, showcasing the incredible talent across Rochester, the Finger Lakes, and surrounding leagues. As the competition heats up, we're tracking the standout performances and early team results.
In a recent meet, the Blue Devils started strong with a 1-0 record. Juliette West was a dual-event force, securing wins in both the 400-meter hurdles (1:18.0) and the open 400 (1:08.6). Teammate Olivia Bucci dominated the sprints, taking the 100 (13.1) and 200 (27.1), while also earning second in the long jump. Mia Palazzo rounded out the victories with a win in the shot put.
For the Oatkan Knights, Violet Blake delivered impressive distance runs, claiming first in both the 800 (2:41.6) and the 1,500 (5:41.2). Chloe Costa added a win in the 3,000, and Allison Vallese captured the long jump title alongside a second-place finish in the 200.
