Sebastian Tounekti has been living life in the fast lane. Since last March, the attacking winger has suited up for Hammarby, Celtic, and the Tunisian national team, racking up a staggering 72 games in what feels like a non-stop season-and-a-half. With the Allsvenskan running on a calendar-year schedule, that kind of mileage would test any player's legs—but Tounekti is all about the finish line.
Right now, all eyes are on the final five games of the season. The Scottish Cup final? That's on the back burner. And for good reason. After a blistering April that saw four wins, Celtic are chasing another four-in-a-row in the SPFL. That would mean five straight league titles for the Hoops—and Tounekti wants nothing more than to add that to his resume, with hopes of more World Cup action for Tunisia on the horizon.
Next up: Hibernian at Easter Road this Sunday. Tounekti is feeling the momentum. "The form has been really good recently," he said. "We are developing well, but we know these games are going to be so hard. Every game is difficult. For us, we have to be at our best, but the motivation is so high. We want to win every game now, so we are going to give everything."
The mood in the camp? Electric. "The result in the last game was really good. The mood is brilliant to be honest. It's so nice to be here now, and everybody is just happy and ready to go again," Tounekti added.
Rarely do we see a three-horse race in Scotland, especially at this stage of the season with everything on the line. Tounekti can't help but smile at the drama. "It's crazy. When you come to Celtic, you expect maybe it's always going to be a two-horse race between us and Rangers. But Hearts have been really good all year, so it's funny to be in—it's quite exciting, too."
Still, the focus remains internal. "For us, it's all about us. We try to take it per match and improve in every game. We know that if we do our best and when we are at our best, then we have a big chance to go the whole way."
With the finish line in sight and the squad buzzing, Tounekti and Celtic are ready to run through a wall. And for fans, that's exactly the kind of energy that makes this sport unforgettable.
