The Los Angeles Rams selected offensive lineman Keagen Trost in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, addressing a position with questions moving forward. It seems Trost's best trait is his versatility, something Sean McVay highlighted in his post-draft presser.

McVay sees Trost as someone who could play every position on the line, including center in an emergency situation.

“For us with him, he’s fortunate enough that he can swing inside," McVay said. "He could really play center if he had to. Fortunately, we’ve got some depth at that spot but that value is incredibly versatile when you’re typically going with eight offensive linemen up on game day.”

Considering Steve Avila, Coleman Shelton, Kevin Dotson, and Warren McClendon are on the final year of their deals, Trost fills an instant need with depth, while serving as a potential successor to any of those players. It makes this a very interesting situation to watch moving forward.

Both Avila and Dotson missed multiple games in 2025 due to injury, which emphasized the Rams' need for more depth on the interior, while Alaric Jackson also missed a game late in the year, too.
