After what looked like an awkward moment following his team's drafting of Ty Simpson, LA Rams head coach Sean McVay wanted to clear the air about his reaction to Ty Simpson.

The whole world saw McVay’s reaction to Simpson being announced as the 13th pick, and apparently, it was not only a shocker to the whole NFL, but for McVay as well.

As McVay explained, it wasn’t that he didn’t like Simpson; he didn’t want to upset Rams starter Matthew Stafford.

McVay clarified his reaction to the Simpson pick at a press conference.

“We are excited about Ty, but this is Matthew Stafford’s team. Ty will get an opportunity for success whenever Matt decides that time is.”

“There were some other things I was grumpy about … I was being stoic by nature.”

“I like that he stayed,” he said. “He didn’t do it the easy way. He went the hard route. It starts off with a loss against Florida State, then I watched him dig in and play his best at the hardest moments.”

He says Ty Simpson has qualities similar to Matthew Stafford's.

You have to wonder if Rams management got in McVay’s ear and reminded him that his attitude was a bad look for the organization.

As for Stafford, he hasn’t exactly been welcoming either.
