After 17 unforgettable years, Everton legend Seamus Coleman has confirmed that this season will be his last as a player for the club. The 37-year-old right-back, who joined the Toffees for a mere £60,000 from Sligo Rovers in 2009, has become a symbol of loyalty and leadership at Goodison Park.

Coleman's journey from a bargain signing to club captain is the stuff of football folklore. He has made a club-record 372 Premier League appearances, 140 of them as captain, and could climb to ninth on Everton's all-time appearance list this weekend. If he plays in Sunday's final home match against Sunderland, he'll reach 434 total appearances, moving ahead of legends Dixie Dean and Leon Osman.

"After more than 17 years at this great football club, I've decided this season will be my last as a player here," Coleman told the official Everton website. But while his playing days at Everton are winding down, the Donegal native isn't ready to hang up his boots entirely. He hinted at continuing his international career with the Republic of Ireland, and didn't rule out playing elsewhere next season if he chooses not to take up a coaching role at Everton.

"Obviously, after such a big decision, I want to have some time over the summer to focus on what's next for me and my family," Coleman added. "My love for Everton is something you all know about – and I've got a huge love for Ireland as well. The club have been unbelievable with me. They've offered me an opportunity to stay on at the club. I'm going to take a nice, long holiday and look back on what has been an amazing time as an Everton footballer."

As one of the Premier League's most respected figures, Coleman's legacy extends far beyond the pitch. For fans who want to celebrate his career, there's no better way than wearing the royal blue with pride – whether it's a classic Everton shirt or training gear inspired by the club's enduring spirit.
