The Seattle Seahawks' defense was superb on third down in 2025.
According to the NFL's Tony Holzman-Escareno, the Seahawks finished last season with the best third down conversion rate allowed to opponents in the NFL at 32.1 percent.
The Seahawks' defense outpaced the Denver Broncos (33.8 percent), New Orleans Saints (34.3 percent), Minnesota Vikings (34.5 percent), and Los Angeles Chargers (35.2 percent), for the league lead.
The Seahawks were well equipped on all three lines of defense last season. Leonard Williams, DeMarcus Lawrence and Derick Hall brought pressure in the pass rush. Ernest Jones IV provided support at linebacker. Nick Emmanwori, Devon Witherspoon, Tariq Woolen, and Coby Bryant walled off the field in the secondary.
Seattle's defense powered them to a win in the Super Bowl at the end of the 2025 season. The Seahawks' stingy defense against the run and their work against the pass contributed toward them taking teams off the field effectively last season.
