The Seattle Seahawks own the 32nd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and only own three other selections down the board with picks No. 64 and 96 on Day 2, and pick No. 188 on Day.

It's not a surprise that many analysts and insiders have predicted that the Seahawks will look to trade down in the NFL Draft to pick up more picks. It's the sensible thing to do for Seattle this year.

Only a few days away from draft night, Seahawks general manager John Schneider revealed his wish for the NFL Draft. Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team shared Schneider want's to trade down from No. 32, and that it's not a secret they have such wishes.

"#Seahawks GM John Schneider said they would like to trade down from No. 32 since they only have four picks in this year's draft," Meirov shared on Twitter/x. This wish from the Seahawks is not a surprise, as Schneider said," It's no secret with us."

It's fascinating for the Seahawks to be so open about their intention with their first-round pick, especially since they aren't picking at No. 1 or near the top of the draft with a guarantee of a player making it to their pick.

The Seahawks are already hoping to make a trade come draft night to pick up extra ammo down the board. And fortunately, there should be an opportunity for a trade.

The 32nd pick will be the last selection in Round 1 to feature the highly coveted fifth-year option, and with the New York Jets at No. 33 potentially eyeing Ty Simpson, a team like the Arizona Cardinals might pay a premium to jump the Jets for the Alabama quarterback.

Even if it's not for Simpson, there could be teams interested in a falling player. If one of the top wide receivers, offensive tackles, or tight ends were to fall to 32, the Seahawks would be open for business.

The Seahawks are open for business, so any team eyeing a player who could slide down the board to the end of the first round could have the chance to get aggressive and trade up with Seattle.

This very candid commentary from Schneider isn't much of a surprise. The team needs to trade down and get more picks in this year's class.

If there were any doubt about the Seahawks draft plans, this wish is very clear: the Seahawks would like not to make a first-round pick this year, as it'd mean they would have swung a trade-down out of the first round and picked up much-needed ammo.
