Wednesday night across Rhode Island was a showcase of high school athletic talent, with thrilling matchups on the diamond and court. The action was intense, setting the stage for another full day of games on Thursday.

In a classic pitchers' duel between baseball powers, La Salle Academy edged out Bishop Feehan 1-0 in a game where every pitch mattered. The lone run came from Axel DaSilva, who launched a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fifth inning. La Salle's ace, Jairo Martinez, was nearly untouchable, striking out 10 batters over seven innings while allowing just one hit and one walk.

Bishop Feehan's pitching was equally impressive. Starter Brody Bumila threw three no-hit innings with nine strikeouts, and reliever Trace Reed finished strong, fanning six over the final three frames while surrendering only the decisive home run.

Elsewhere in baseball, Middletown secured a 2-0 victory over Narragansett. The Islanders manufactured their first run in the third inning thanks to heads-up baserunning from Ryan Johnson. Kenny Pirches then provided an insurance run in the sixth with an RBI single, before closing out the game on the mound with five shutout innings in relief.

North Providence dominated Johnston in a mercy-rule shortened game, powered by a stellar complete-game from Mike Ryan. Ryan was masterful, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out nine over five innings. The Cougar offense provided ample support, with Jayden Allar and two teammates each driving in two runs in the lopsided win.

As the dust settles from Wednesday's battles, teams are already preparing for Thursday's full slate of games. For players and fans alike, it's the perfect time to gear up with the latest performance apparel to support your local squad.
