With a crucial Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Atalanta looming next week, Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri faces a classic squad management puzzle. The Biancocelesti's focus is shifting towards the cup, their clearest remaining path to European football next season, which could lead to a rotated lineup for this weekend's Serie A trip to face Napoli at the Stadio Maradona.

Currently sitting 9th in the league, Lazio's domestic campaign for a European spot has stalled, making Wednesday's cup clash in Bergamo the undeniable priority. After a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg, everything is to play for. Sarri must balance maintaining competitive momentum with preserving his key players for that decisive midweek fixture.

Reports suggest Sarri is considering tactical tweaks rather than a complete overhaul, partly due to a lack of depth in certain positions. In defense, Alessio Romagnoli and Oliver Provstgaard are set to continue their partnership with Mario Gila still recovering. Manuel Lazzari is expected to deputize at right-back, while a decision awaits on the left flank between a possibly rested Nuno Tavares and the recovering Luca Pellegrini.

The midfield presents several intriguing choices. In the deep-lying regista role, Patric and Danilo Cataldi are competing, with the one benched against Napoli likely to start against Atalanta. A similar dynamic exists on the right side of the midfield trio, where Toma Basic and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are vying for minutes. Kenneth Taylor, however, appears to be an 'untouchable' starter for both matches.

Out wide, the right-wing battle between Gustav Isaksen and Matteo Cancellieri continues. On the opposite flank, Mattia Zaccagni is favored to gain much-needed match sharpness, with Pedro and Tijjani Noslin providing alternatives. Up front, Boulaye Dia is tipped to lead the line against Napoli, keeping Petar Ratkov in reserve, while Daniel Maldini could also see increased involvement as Sarri carefully manages his resources for the pivotal week ahead.
