Salford City have secured a key piece of their midfield future, with 23-year-old Kallum Cesay putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract that will keep him at the Peninsula Stadium until the end of the 2027-28 season.
The young midfielder has been a standout since joining the Ammies from National League side Wealdstone last summer, making the step up to EFL football look seamless. In his 34 appearances across all competitions, Cesay has already contributed five goals and six assists—impressive numbers for a player still finding his feet at this level.
"It's my first season in EFL football, so I'm really happy to stay here and carry on my journey," Cesay said. "Hopefully I can do much more for this club."
His confidence is well-placed. The transition from non-league to League Two can be daunting, but Cesay has embraced the challenge. "It's a big step up from Wealdstone, but I think I was always ready for it. I believe in myself, so I knew I could do it," he added.
For Salford fans, this deal represents more than just retaining a promising talent—it's a statement of intent. Cesay's energy in the middle of the park and his eye for goal make him a player to watch as the club pushes for further progress. Whether you're catching a match or just following from home, players like Cesay are the kind of talent that makes supporting a club so rewarding.
