Throughout the pre-draft cycle, many NFL teams conduct meetings with various prospects as a way to get to know them better. Usually, these meetings will be once per prospect, or twice with ones they really like, with very rare occasions seeing three or more between the combine, pro day, and workout visits. The New Orleans Saints are a team that can go upwards of three, as we saw with Auburn guard Jeremiah Wright.
However, they actually had two prospects report now that they have had three meetings, as fifth-round selection Lorenzo Styles Jr. stated he met with them three times as well.
Lorenzo Styles Jr. says the Saints came up for Ohio State's Pro Day, met the staff at dinner. Also met with them at the Combine.
It is good to see the Saints really doing their due diligence on prospects they are selecting, primarily the Day 3 guys, who they would like to get more information on. Some names, like Christen Miller, only met with the Saints once, and they knew what they were looking for, which is also a positive, as it frees up time for the staff to go look around the nation at various prospects.
Styles Jr. will likely get a pretty early workload for New Orleans, with their secondary in need of some productive players around the room. We will see where he ends up landing on the depth chart, with experience at various secondary positions in his collegiate career.
