Rutgers men's basketball faces another roster shift as forward Dylan Grant has entered the transfer portal, becoming the fifth Scarlet Knight to do so this offseason. After two seasons in Piscataway, Grant will seek a new program with two years of eligibility remaining.

Originally part of the heralded 2024 recruiting class that featured five-star talents Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper, Grant was a significant prospect in his own right. A consensus four-star recruit ranked No. 109 nationally by Rivals, he chose Rutgers over offers from several other programs, including Cincinnati, DePaul, and VCU.

During his time with the Knights, Grant was a consistent presence, appearing in 55 games and earning 46 starts. In his sophomore campaign, he played in 34 games, starting 29 despite battling the flu in January. He finished as the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 9.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 44% from the field. While his three-point shooting (31%) showed room for growth, his overall contribution was a key part of the rotation.

However, his production saw a notable decline during the rigorous Big Ten conference schedule, where he reached double-digit scoring only five times after the new year. This move underscores the fluid nature of college basketball rosters in the transfer portal era, as players seek the best fit to maximize their final seasons of eligibility.
