The veteran quarterback is the latest player to be considering a switch from football to TV.

Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson is facing a career-defining decision that has the sports world buzzing: sign with the New York Jets or make the leap to television. The 37-year-old free agent recently visited the Jets' facility and confirmed to the New York Post that the team has extended a contract offer.

"The visit was great, and they offered me," Wilson said. "I'm trying to figure out what the next best thing is for me to do. I still know I can play ball at a high level, but also I think the opportunity to do TV analysis is great, so we'll see what happens."

Wilson's journey over the past three seasons has been a rollercoaster, with stops in Denver, Pittsburgh, and most recently with the New York Giants. In his lone season with the Giants, he played just six games before being benched in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart, finishing with 831 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Reports later revealed he had been battling an undisclosed hamstring injury.

A move to the Jets would reunite Wilson with Geno Smith, his former backup during their time together with the Seattle Seahawks. It's a reunion that could inject some veteran savvy into a young Jets locker room.

But the TV industry is also calling. According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, CBS has shown strong interest in adding Wilson to its "NFL Today" show. Wilson already dipped his toes into broadcasting during his 2025 bye week, serving as a guest analyst for CBS, and reportedly other networks are also vying for his talents.

Whether Wilson chooses the gridiron or the studio, one thing is clear: his next move will be one of the most talked-about decisions of the offseason. For fans looking to rep their favorite QB, now might be the perfect time to grab some fresh gear—because wherever Wilson lands, his legacy is far from over.
