Former UFC champ Rose Namajunas is ready to return to training, and she hopes to change things in the world of eye poke penalties.

Namajunas recently lost a decision to Natalia Silva at January’s UFC 324 event, and revealed she had eye surgery after she was “poked in the eye a few times” by Silva. The recovery timetable seemed pretty on par with early predictions, and now “Thug Rose” says she’s been cleared to return to training.

Additionally, Namajunas isn’t just hoping for points to be taken for eye pokes moving forward, but for money to be taken as well.

“So you wanna be a fighter? Three months and now I’m healthy finally,“ Namajunas wrote on Instagram. “Thumb and eye are all fixed up. Im a bit out of shape but I’m cleared to train now. I really hope eye pokes will be taken more seriously in the future. I propose instant purse deduction even for an accident. An accident that could seriously affect a fighters health long term. Anyways I’m just grateful that it was not more serious.”

Since losing the strawweight title to Carla Esparza and moving up to the flyweight division, Namajunas is 3-3 in her new weight class.
