Rockland High School is ushering in a new era for its girls varsity soccer program, and the future looks bright. The school's athletic director, Dan Kimball, announced on Tuesday via the athletic department's X page that Farid Issa—a proud 2004 graduate of Rockland—has been named the team's next head coach.

"He's excited to get going at the high school ranks," Kimball said. "With the amount of experience he has playing and coaching, it's just a really cool opportunity for our girls to have someone of his caliber coming in and coaching them up."

Issa takes over for Marcia Beatty, who stepped down after the 2023 season. Beatty, who led the program since 2019, compiled a solid 38-41-11 record from 2021 to 2025. Now, Issa brings a fresh perspective and a deep-rooted connection to the community.

A former standout on Rockland's boys varsity soccer team, Issa went on to play at the NCAA Division II level for Merrimack College. But it's his nearly two decades of coaching experience that truly sets him apart. Having honed his skills with elite club programs like New England Futbol Club (NEFC) and the Boston Bolts—and currently coaching with New England Force—Issa is ready to translate that expertise to the high school pitch.

"We're really excited about the energy and enthusiasm that he brings, as well as his wealth of knowledge," Kimball added. "Him coming from the club world to the high school world is something that we're really excited about."

With Issa at the helm, Rockland's girls soccer program is poised for an exciting new chapter—one built on experience, passion, and a true love for the game.
