Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson would be "questioning people's intelligence" if they can't see the overhaul needed at Pittodrie this summer. Robinson, who was named head coach in March, insists he and the board are on the same page about what needs to be done after a hugely disappointing Premiership campaign. "We are all in agreement on what we need to do and what direction we need to go, what type of players we need in and what type of mentality we need at the football club," Robinson said.

Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson isn't mincing words about the scale of the rebuild needed at Pittodrie this summer. After a disappointing Premiership campaign that saw the Dons finish eighth, Robinson is making it clear that a major squad overhaul is on the horizon.

Taking the reins back in March, Robinson has wasted no time assessing what went wrong and what needs to change. "I think I would be questioning people's intelligence if they can't see what we need," he said bluntly. The good news for fans? He and the board are on the same page. "We are all in agreement on what we need to do and what direction we need to go, what type of players we need in and what type of mentality we need at the football club."

As Aberdeen prepare to wrap up their season away to Dundee on Sunday, the trip to Dens Park might look like a dead rubber on paper. But for Robinson, it's a crucial opportunity. "I will make some changes to personnel and other little bits as well that I want to look at," he explained. "I have made my mind up on the vast majority of things I want to do but there are a couple of people that I want to have a last look at before I make final decisions."

The challenge, as any manager knows, is moving players out—especially those with long contracts. "They hold all the power," Robinson admitted. "If they decide to stay, they decide to stay. All I can be is honest and tell people whether they are going to be part of my plans, and you hope with the desire that they have to play football that makes people want to move on."

Still, the message is clear: change is coming. "It is certainly our intention to shake the squad up a little bit," Robinson said. For a club that has underperformed this season, a summer of hard decisions and fresh faces could be exactly what Aberdeen needs to get back on track.
