Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson is brimming with optimism as his side gears up for a crucial Friday night clash against Livingston. After securing back-to-back victories with clean sheets, Robinson believes the team is riding a wave of momentum. "Winning breeds confidence," he stated, highlighting the renewed positivity coursing through the group.
While the Dons sit eight points clear of Kilmarnock in the relegation play-off spot, Robinson remains cautious. "We have still got work to do," he admitted, acknowledging that their Premiership status isn't yet secure. The manager praised his players for stepping up under pressure, especially after their character was questioned during a tough stretch.
One bright spot has been on-loan QPR defender Liam Morrison, who has silenced early doubters. "When I first came up, there were a lot of people doubting Liam," Robinson recalled. "He is now showing what a good player he is." The boss is keen to explore extending Morrison's stay beyond the summer.
Looking ahead, Robinson is eager to give fringe players a chance once safety is assured. "There are players I haven't given an opportunity to due to the system," he explained. "It would be very good to see those players on the pitch before I make decisions—but first and foremost, we get to that level of safety."
As for Livingston, Robinson expects a stern test. "They are a team playing with freedom, which makes them even more dangerous," he noted. "They are not losing games by a lot." With Emmanuel Gyamfi set to be assessed for a possible return, Aberdeen will need to stay sharp to keep their winning run alive.
