Fabio Quartararo’s recent comments about Yamaha haven’t gone unnoticed, and Ricard Jove believes his next team, Honda, won’t be too pleased either. It was revealed earlier in the year that Quartararo plans to move to Honda once his current deal with Yamaha runs out.

Fabio Quartararo's recent frustrations with Yamaha are making waves, and according to former team manager Ricard Jove, his next potential employer—Honda—might not be thrilled about it either. The 2021 world champion has been open about his struggles, and Jove believes those comments could come back to haunt him.

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Quartararo plans to leave Yamaha for Honda once his current contract expires. While nothing is official yet, the delay reportedly stems from ongoing negotiations about commercial terms between teams and the championship beyond 2027. But Jove is convinced the deal is already in place, and he warns that some of Quartararo's recent remarks haven't sat well with either his current team or his expected future one.

Quartararo hasn't hidden his disappointment with Yamaha, the team he led to a world title in 2021. He's been winless since mid-2022, and even their recent switch from an inline-four engine to a V4 hasn't lifted them off the bottom of the grid. After finishing 14th at the Spanish Grand Prix, he admitted to losing his passion for racing and not enjoying himself on the bike anymore. Earlier, he had bluntly stated that Yamaha didn't know how to fix their problems.

Yamaha's response was swift: they canceled rider debriefs after the season opener in Thailand, worried about further damage to their reputation. Jove, speaking on social media, advised Quartararo to be more careful with his words. He pointed out that rider contracts often include clauses against behavior that could harm a team's image, and those rules apply to everyone—no matter how talented.

In a separate post, Jove revealed that Quartararo had signed a 'letter of intent' with Aprilia for 2027 before backing out. That decision set off a chain reaction: with Jorge Martin expected to join Yamaha, Aprilia turned to Francesco Bagnaia from Ducati, while Marco Bezzecchi extended his contract to stay put. Quartararo's loyalty to Yamaha initially kept him from other offers, but now into his sixth season, tensions are running higher than ever.

For fans and riders alike, this drama serves as a reminder that in MotoGP, every word counts—both on and off the track. As Quartararo navigates this transition, his next moves will be critical, not just for his career but for the teams watching closely from the paddock.
