The Tennessee Titans wrapped up their rookie minicamp over the weekend, but it was a quiet finish for the 58 tryout players hoping to earn a roster spot. Despite the large number of hopefuls—far exceeding the typical 30-plus invites most teams bring in—the Titans have decided not to sign any of them, according to Paul Kuharsky.

While the team's eight draft picks and 11 undrafted free agents were already on the roster, the tryout players represented a chance to add depth before training camp. Head coach Robert Saleh kept the draft picks focused on strength and conditioning rather than on-field drills, but the tryout participants were given every opportunity to prove themselves. Unfortunately for them, the Titans' front office, led by Mike Borgonzi, ultimately passed on the entire group.

Among the notable tryout players were Jacksonville State wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner—son of wrestling legend Scott Steiner—and Arkansas State cornerback Trenton Alan Yowe. Both had been initially misreported as undrafted free agent signings, but neither will join the team in an official capacity. Local college standouts like East Tennessee State quarterback Cade McNamara, Tennessee running back Star Thomas, Middle Tennessee defensive tackle Damonte Smith, and Western Kentucky wide receiver Matthew Henry also failed to make the cut.

Special teams coordinator John "Bones" Fassel put the undrafted rookies and tryout players through a viral field drill designed to test athleticism and special teams potential. The drill, which featured an unusual running style from tryout player Tyren Montgomery, didn't yield any new additions. The Titans went 0-for-58 in their tryout class.

Moving forward, the Titans will build their rookie foundation with 19 players: their eight draft picks and 11 undrafted free agents. This year's UDFA class includes intriguing names like Montgomery, offensive tackles Aamil Wagner and Rasheed Miller, and safety Bishop Fitzgerald. While the tryout players didn't make the cut, the team is clearly focused on developing the talent they already have as they prepare for training camp.
