The New Orleans Saints have added some serious athletic pedigree to their roster, signing undrafted rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner on Monday, as first reported by Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.
Rechsteiner didn't just show up—he earned his spot. After impressing the coaching staff during a tryout at the team's rookie minicamp, the former Jacksonville State standout secured a contract that puts him in the black and gold for the upcoming season.
If the name sounds familiar, there's a good reason. Brock is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Rechsteiner—better known to wrestling fans as "Scott Steiner" or "Big Poppa Pump." The athletic genes run deep: his uncle Rick Steiner was his father's legendary tag team partner, and his first cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, currently lights up the ring as Bron Breakker.
But don't expect Brock to trade his cleats for wrestling boots anytime soon. "I want to do football as long as I can," Rechsteiner told Rod Walker of nola.com. "Once that's done, I will pursue wrestling."
On the field, Rechsteiner put together a solid 2025 campaign at Jacksonville State, hauling in 36 receptions for 383 yards and five touchdowns. That production earned him an invite to the Titans' rookie minicamp last week, but it was his weekend performance with the Saints that ultimately landed him a roster spot.
For Saints fans, Rechsteiner represents the kind of underdog story that makes training camp so compelling—a tryout kid with a famous last name who's dead set on making his own mark in the NFL before stepping into the squared circle.
