Liverpool are reportedly setting their sights on a Bundesliga star as the summer transfer window approaches, with just weeks to go before the market opens and FSG begins reshaping the squad for next season.

According to German outlet Fussball Daten, the Reds have identified Borussia Dortmund's Daniel Svensson as a "top target" to bolster their defensive options. The 24-year-old Sweden international, often described as a "Swiss Army knife" of modern full-backs, is also being monitored by Arsenal and Leeds United.

Svensson's versatility and playing style have drawn comparisons to the ideal modern defender—combining physicality, pressing ability, and attacking flair. In Niko Kovac's system at Dortmund, he thrives as a wing-back, using his license to get forward to contribute four goals and two assists this season, including one against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

With Andy Robertson set to depart at the end of the campaign, Liverpool already have Milos Kerkez lined up as a long-term successor. But Svensson's arrival would add depth and competition, with his attributes seen as a "perfect fit" for the Reds' high-energy system.

Dortmund are expected to demand around €40 million (£34.6 million) for the defender, and while BVB chiefs would prefer to keep him at Signal Iduna Park, he is not considered "untouchable." Svensson's ambition to play in the Premier League is described as an "open secret," meaning a sizeable offer could tempt the German club into negotiations.

As the summer window heats up, Liverpool fans will be watching closely to see if this Swedish star becomes the next piece of the puzzle at Anfield.
