Inter Milan could reportedly part ways with both Yann Sommer and Josep Martinez at the end of the season.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are preparing for a comprehensive goalkeeping overhaul in the summer.
Yann Sommer’s contract at San Siro expires in June, and the runaway Serie A leaders have refused to offer him fresh terms.
Therefore, the 37-year-old is expected to sever ties with the club after three years and leave as a free agent.
Meanwhile, Martinez’s future is hanging by a thread despite his heroics in the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Tuesday.
Josep Martinez has been a second-choice goalkeeper in the last two years, and the Spaniard could depart the club for regular first-team opportunities.
On the other hand, Inter have already identified Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario as a top candidate to replace Sommer.
Despite Vicario’s prohibitive €30 million price tag, the Nerazzurri will try to bring him back to Serie A in the summer.
Meanwhile, Filip Stankovic could return to San Siro only 12 months after joining Venezia.
However, the 24-year-old would play second fiddle to Vicario, effectively taking Martinez’s place in the squad.
