Tennessee is all in.

Tennessee basketball is making it crystal clear: they're going all-in for head coach Rick Barnes, and the price tag is staggering.

After the season ended, whispers quickly turned into headlines that the Volunteers would be major spenders in the transfer portal. They didn't just meet expectations—they shattered them. According to a report from On3's Pete Nakos, Tennessee has shelled out a jaw-dropping $18 million on transfer portal acquisitions this cycle, with that number potentially ballooning past $20 million depending on final roster moves.

The action started fast. Barnes locked in his first commitment immediately: Belmont grad-transfer sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade. Then, in what felt like a carefully orchestrated chess match, nearly the entire roster hit the portal. One by one—Dai Dai Ames, Miles Rubin, Jalen Haralson, Terrence Hill Jr., Braedan Lue, and Juke Harris—committed to Knoxville, giving Barnes arguably his most offensively gifted squad since arriving in Tennessee.

The crown jewel? Juke Harris. The 6-7 guard, ranked among the top three transfer portal players by nearly every major outlet, chose the Volunteers over the NBA, Michigan, and North Carolina. He's the latest in a growing line of elite transfer scorers at Tennessee, following the footsteps of Dalton Knecht, Chaz Lanier, and Ja'Kobi Gillespie. Landing him came at a premium: roughly $4 million, similar to what the program paid for Nate Ament last season.

"The Volunteers put an exclamation point on their portal class earlier this week, landing On3's No. 1 overall transfer Juke Harris," Nakos reported. "The Wake Forest guard withdrew from the NBA draft process to return to school, and sources told On3 he is expected to make upward of $4 million next season at Tennessee."

With just one roster spot remaining, Tennessee is expected to target a big man to round out the depth. Prep center Favour Ibe, a 7-1 prospect, recently wrapped up an official visit over the weekend and could be the final piece of the puzzle. For context, Louisville currently holds the top-ranked transfer portal class—but Tennessee's spending spree has certainly turned heads across college basketball.
