Barcelona are reportedly preparing to open negotiations for Chelsea star Joao Pedro, though talks remain in their early stages according to recent reports.

The Brazilian forward has been nothing short of sensational since his £60m move from Brighton last summer. With 20 goals across all competitions—including 15 in the Premier League—it's hard to argue against him being Chelsea's standout performer this season.

Pedro has firmly claimed the number nine role at Stamford Bridge, seeing off competition from fellow summer signing Liam Delap with ease. His form has also earned him a likely starring role for Brazil at this summer's World Cup, and it's no surprise his performances have caught the eye of Europe's elite.

According to GE.Globo, Barcelona are now planning to kickstart negotiations for the striker, with a potential deal valued at around £86m including add-ons. However, Chelsea have made their stance crystal clear: Pedro is not for sale this summer, regardless of the interest from the La Liga giants.

In other positive news for the Blues, they could be handed a major boost ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final, with reports suggesting Reece James is ready to return to the starting lineup. The England international hasn't started a game since March but made his comeback as a second-half substitute against Liverpool last weekend. Depending on Chelsea's tactical setup, James could slot in at right-back or once again feature in midfield.
