Giancarlo Stanton got the series started well for the Yankees, going 3-for-4 with a homerun and a double, leading to a 4-0 Yankee win. The Yankees will send staff ace Max Fried (2-1, 2.97 ERA) to the mound for Game 2. Fried started the season with two terrific outings, allowing no runs over 13.1 innings, but has stumbled since, going 0-1 over his last three starts. His last start was the most difficult, as he allowed five earned runs and walked three over 5.1 innings, picking up the loss in an 11-4 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels.
Ranger Suarez (1-1, 3.22 ERA) counters for the Red Sox, who have struggled mightily at the plate to start the 2026 season. Boston has scored 12 runs over their last five games (three losses), but eight of those came in a single win over the Detroit Tigers. Trevor Story leads the team with 17 RBI, but is hitting just .189 with a paltry .225 OBP. No Red Sox starter is hitting over .290, with Masataka Toshida representing the closest hitter, at .289.
This is a great MLB matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
