Historic performances highlighted the IVC championships as 11 meet records fell and team titles were won by Tusky Valley girls and Indian Valley boys.

History was made at the 2026 Inter-Valley Conference (IVC) Track and Field Championships, as a record-breaking 11 meet marks fell during an unforgettable day of competition at Newcomerstown. When the dust settled, the Tusky Valley girls and Indian Valley boys emerged as team champions, but the real story was the sheer volume of elite performances on display.

The star of the meet was undoubtedly Indian Valley's Carsen Hostetler, who delivered a double that will be talked about for years. Hostetler shattered the IVC Championship record in the boys 110-meter hurdles with a blistering time of 14.46 seconds. Not content with just one record, he came back to dominate the 300-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 37.43 seconds to add another title to his collection.

Indian Valley's relay teams also made their mark, with the boys 4x200-meter relay squad of Grady Kinsey and company taking the win in a swift 1:30.97. The Braves' depth was on full display as they powered to the overall team title.

In the distance events, Sandy Valley's Gleason Pfeffer showed his endurance by winning the 1,600-meter run in 4:39.55, while Tuscarawas Valley's Cade Conrad celebrated a hard-fought victory in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.13.

The girls' competition was equally thrilling, with Tuscarawas Central Catholic's Elena Price making a statement in the 800-meter run. Strasburg's Lydia Thomas brought the intensity to the 400-meter dash, and Tuscarawas Valley's Katie Armstrong soared in the pole vault, clearing the bar with impressive technique.

The championship atmosphere was electric from start to finish, with athletes, coaches, and fans all witnessing a day that will be remembered as one of the most competitive in IVC history. Whether you're a runner, a jumper, or a thrower, days like this remind us why we love the sport—and why the right gear can make all the difference when chasing a record.
