Tigers shine with two program records and seven personal bests in Auburn

Friday was nothing short of spectacular for Missouri track and field at the SEC Outdoor Championships in Auburn, Alabama. The Tigers closed out day two of the meet in record-breaking fashion, delivering two program records and seven personal bests that had fans on their feet.

Leading the charge was Elijah Limo in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Limo shattered his own Mizzou record with a blazing time of 8:36.22, securing a fifth-place finish and etching his name as the No. 2 performer in program history. Not to be outdone, Joshua Allison also turned heads, claiming the No. 3 all-time mark with an eighth-place finish and a personal best of 8:40.21. It was a day to remember for the Tigers in the steeplechase.

In the men's 1,500 meters, Lasse Funck advanced to Saturday's finals after a strong ninth-place showing in 3:46.73. Joseph Bariola followed in 16th (3:47.25), while Drew Rogers notched a personal best of 3:47.37 for 17th. Carter Spradling and Finnian Russell rounded out the pack in 19th and 26th, respectively.

Over in the women's heptathlon, Brianna Utecht battled through day two to finish eighth overall with 5,381 points. She posted a ninth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:22.32), an eighth-place mark in the long jump (5.72 meters), and an 11th-place throw in the javelin (32.95 meters).

The women's 1,500 meters saw a wave of personal bests from the Tigers. Kobi Walker led the way with a 15th-place finish and a new PR of 4:22.18. Charlotte Cullen wasn't far behind in 17th, also setting a personal best at 4:24.02. Brianna Lee followed in 19th with a PR of 4:24.07, while Monica Wanjiku crossed in 20th at 4:24.48. Suzy Lecoutre finished 22nd (4:24.74), Allison Newman set a new personal best of 4:27.21 for 25th, and Morgan Yeomans rounded out the Tigers in 31st (4:31.22).
