David Raya is on a historic run, and he's not done yet. Just one day after clinching the Premier League Golden Glove for the third straight season, the Arsenal goalkeeper matched another elite milestone in the Champions League.

On Tuesday night, Raya kept his ninth clean sheet of the European campaign in Arsenal's 1-0 semifinal win, tying the record held by former Chelsea shot-stopper Edouard Mendy for the most shutouts by an English club in a single Champions League season. Mendy set the mark during Chelsea's triumphant 2020/21 run.

What makes this feat even more impressive? No goalkeeper from a Premier League side has ever reached double-digit clean sheets in one Champions League campaign. Raya now has the chance to become the first, with the final looming later this month against either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

Raya has been knocking on the door of this record for a while. He finished joint-second in clean sheets during both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 Champions League seasons, but this year, he's finally taken the top spot outright.

Combine that with his Golden Glove dominance—now three in a row—and you're looking at a goalkeeper building a compelling case for individual honors this season. A Premier League and Champions League double would only strengthen that argument, so expect Raya to push for a few more shutouts before the month ends.

After that, it's off to the World Cup, where he'll battle Unai Simon and Joan Garcia for the starting role with Spain. For now, though, Raya is writing his name into the record books—one clean sheet at a time.
