Ravenwood High School has found its new leader for the girls basketball program, tapping Dallas Mall to take the helm and replace outgoing coach Andrew James. The move was officially announced on May 11 through a press release from Williamson County athletics director Patrick Whitlock.
Mall steps into the role with a strong foundation in youth development, having spent the last four years as a physical education teacher and multi-sport coach at Sunset Middle School in Brentwood. Since 2022, he has guided the Sunset Middle girls basketball team, while also lending his expertise to the football and baseball programs. This diverse coaching background gives him a unique perspective on building young athletes, both on and off the court.
"We are excited to hire coach Mall. He has incredible enthusiasm that we believe will bring a positive energy to the girls and the program," said Ravenwood athletic director Andy Elrod in the release. "Coach Mall builds a great culture on his team, and we look forward to adding that to the athletic community at Ravenwood."
For Ravenwood, this hire signals a fresh start and a commitment to fostering a winning culture. Mall's experience at the middle school level suggests he knows how to develop talent from the ground up, which could pay dividends as the Lady Raptors look to build a competitive program. As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on how Mall translates his energy and coaching philosophy to the high school hardwood.
