Baltimore Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta is keeping things close to the vest when it comes to Lamar Jackson's contract negotiations—and that's exactly the way he wants it.

Speaking on the C4 and Bryan Nehman Show, DeCosta remained steadfast in his approach to handling the situation publicly, choosing to keep the details "in-house" for the benefit of both the team and the negotiations. It's a strategy that aligns with how the Ravens have operated all along, especially given the unique dynamic of Jackson serving as his own agent.

"Yeah, I mean, those are fair questions, and in the past I've not really answered those questions, and I'm probably going to stick with that," DeCosta said. "Because, as we've said, Lamar is his own agent. It's a personal relationship that we have with Lamar. And I think it's important that we probably keep those kind of discussions in-house for the best of the team, for the best of the negotiations."

While the GM isn't spilling any trade secrets, he did offer a vote of confidence that will surely resonate with Ravens fans everywhere. DeCosta expressed his belief that Jackson will remain in Baltimore, citing the quarterback's deep connection to the organization and the city.

"But I am confident that Lamar will be here. I'm excited about it," DeCosta added. "I think he loves the team. He loves the city. He loves our fan base. And when I think of the Ravens, I think of Lamar Jackson being on the field."

For fans eager to rep their franchise quarterback while the contract talks play out, one thing remains clear: whether it's on the field or in the front office, the Ravens are betting on Jackson to be the face of their future.
