Despite their ongoing feud, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers are more similar than some realize. They're two of the game's premier organizations. They're the class of the league, and this season, they're both navigating uncertainty at the same time. Both franchises are adjusting to head-coaching changes, something neither has dealt with very often and hasn't endured in nearly two decades. That has altered the AFC North landscape, and while Baltimore appears to have a clear direction despite Lamar Jackson's contract dilemma, Pittsburgh enters the NFL Draft with major questions still unanswered.

Is Aaron Rodgers returning? What happens at quarterback? Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, a decision shouldn't be expected before the draft. The Steelers hold a league-high 12 selections, giving them plenty of opportunities to improve the roster. Still, none of those decisions matter more than what they do at the game's most important position. And right now, there's no clarity.

According to Ian Rapoport, the organization still hasn't heard from Aaron Rodgers regarding his future. More importantly, they aren't expected to have an answer before the draft begins.

That puts Pittsburgh in a difficult position. Do they wait on Rodgers? That idea seems like a bad one. They risk missing out on a young quarterback if they do, but the Steelers have 12 picks. Talent can be added, even if some view this as a weak class with limited elite options. It's a delicate balance. No NFL team wants to operate without a clear plan under center, especially in a division that Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow call home. There's also an added layer to consider. Rodgers' interest in Pittsburgh last season was, in part, tied to his respect for Mike Tomlin.

That connection made the potential pairing feel logical, but, again, Pittsburgh is in transition. Without a firm commitment from Rodgers, the Steelers are left to prepare for multiple outcomes, each with its own consequences.

That uncertainty could shape their entire draft, and if Pittsburgh leans into the unknown, they may be forced to prioritize the quarterback position earlier than expected. If they hold off, they risk entering the season without a definitive answer at the position.

Either way, the ripple effects will be felt across the AFC North. While the Ravens continue to move toward building with clarity, their biggest rival is still searching for some, and in a division where stability often defines success, that difference could matter more than ever.
