The Los Angeles Rams hold a valuable asset heading into the 2026 NFL Draft: the 13th overall pick. With this selection, they have a prime opportunity to add an instant-impact player to a roster poised for another championship run. While many mock drafts have consistently linked the Rams to wide receiver prospects like Jordyn Tyson or Makai Lemon, a new prediction throws a fascinating curveball into the conversation.

In a recent NFL.com mock draft by Gennaro Filice, the Rams bypass the more commonly projected names to select Texas A&M star KC Concepcion. "Yes, I'm throwing a curveball into the perceived receiver pecking order," Filice writes, slotting Concepcion as the third pass-catcher off the board, right after Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon. This projection represents the highest draft spot for Concepcion this offseason, who has typically been viewed as a mid-to-late first-round talent.

So, what makes Concepcion such an intriguing, if unexpected, fit for the Rams? His 2024 season at Texas A&M showcased a dynamic and versatile playmaker. He hauled in 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging an impressive 15.1 yards per catch. His game-breaking ability shines after the catch, with elite yards-after-catch (YAC) skills that rank among the best in his draft class. The Aggies also utilized his athleticism in the run game, where he added 75 yards and a touchdown on just 10 carries.

Imagine adding that kind of explosive weapon to a receiver room already featuring Davante Adams and Puka Nacua. It would create a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators and provide a significant boost for quarterback Matthew Stafford. With Stafford potentially entering the final chapter of his illustrious career, surrounding him with dynamic talent for an "all-in" season is a logical priority. Selecting a playmaker like KC Concepcion could be the bold move that elevates the Rams' high-powered offense to another level.
