The Las Vegas Raiders got their man to start the draft when they took Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick.
For four days, though, they thought they were going to have two first-round picks. On March 6, the Raiders agreed to send star defensive end Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for the No. 14 pick in the 20226 draft and a first-0round pick next year. However, four days later, the Ravens pulled out of the trade after giving Crosby a physical.
So, Crosby is back with the Raiders and the Ravens ended up taking Penn State guard Olaivavega Ioane with the pick on Thursday night.
Ioane could have been a possibility. An interesting name would have been Miami defensive tackle Rueben Bain. He was went to Tampa Bay at No. 15. he wasn’t expected to get out of the top 10 picks.
Other possibilities included Clemson tackle Blake Miller (who went to Detroit at No. 17) and USC wide receiver Makai Lemon (who went No. 20 to Philadelphia).
Who would you have wanted the Raiders to take at No. 14 if they had the pick?
