The Las Vegas Raiders are staring down a formidable challenge in the 2026 NFL season. According to the league's official rankings, the Silver and Black boast the sixth-toughest strength of schedule in the entire NFL, with opponents posting a combined 52.9 percent win rate from the previous year. That's no small feat for a team looking to bounce back.
Coming off a tough 3-14 campaign in 2025, the Raiders hit the reset button hard. They secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting quarterback Fernando Mendoza, and made savvy moves in free agency—adding center Tyler Linderbaum and veteran signal-caller Kirk Cousins—while also trading for cornerback Taron Johnson. These additions aim to shore up a roster that struggled mightily last season.
But the schedule won't do them any favors. At home, six of eight games pit the Raiders against playoff-caliber opponents, including AFC West rivals Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos and Chargers both made the postseason in 2025, and the slate also features the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks. On the road, things get even tougher: the Raiders will face the Broncos, Chiefs, and Chargers again, plus the defending AFC champion New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers.
For a franchise that hasn't seen playoff action since 2021, this gauntlet will test their offseason upgrades from day one. The full schedule drops Thursday, and all eyes will be on Las Vegas to see if they can rise to the occasion.
