Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is on the verge of NFL history. With 1,709 receiving yards next season, he would surpass Justin Jefferson for the most ever through a player's first four years. That's a big number, but Nacua has already proven he can deliver when healthy.
Through his first three seasons, Nacua racked up 4,191 yards—passing Randy Moss for second-most all time in that span—and he did it in four fewer games than Moss. Only Jefferson was ahead, with 4,825 yards. But in Year 4, Jefferson missed seven games and managed just 1,074 yards, narrowing the gap.
Jefferson still leads through four seasons with 5,899 yards, but Nacua needs just 1,709 to reach 5,900 and claim the record. Former Rams star Torry Holt sits sixth on that list, showing just how elite this company is.
When you look at games played, the race gets even tighter. Through 44 career regular-season games, Nacua trails Jefferson by only 57 yards and leads in catches with 313. If Nacua hadn't missed six games in 2024, he might already be the leader.
And don't forget the playoffs. Nacua has been electric in the postseason, totaling 654 yards in six career games. Add that to his regular-season numbers, and he's at 4,845 yards—more than Jefferson had through 50 games and four seasons combined.
The big question now: Can Nacua stay on the field for all 17 games next season? He averaged 107.2 yards per game last year with Matthew Stafford, and there's no reason to expect a drop-off. The Rams will lean on him even more with Davante Adams unlikely to see as many targets, and Los Angeles is set for a tight NFC West battle with the Seahawks and 49ers.
Seattle's defense never found an answer for Nacua. In three games against them, he showed exactly why he's on the verge of becoming the NFL's new receiving king.
