Two of the most legendary figures in St. Louis Cardinals history are set to receive the ultimate honor. Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina have been voted into the team's Hall of Fame for the class of 2026, as announced by the organization on Friday.
Pujols, whose powerful right-handed swing sparked endless debates about his place among baseball's all-time greats, spent the bulk of his career in St. Louis. A three-time National League MVP and 11-time All-Star, he finished with 703 career home runs—fourth most in MLB history. His clutch performances were instrumental in delivering World Series championships to the Cardinals in 2006 and 2011.
Molina, meanwhile, redefined the catcher position over his entire 19-year career, all spent with the Cardinals. A 10-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove Award winner, he became the backbone of the team's pitching staff and a master of game-calling. His leadership was equally vital during those same championship runs, helping guide the Cardinals to two titles.
Joining them in the 2026 class is Bill Sherdel, a left-handed pitcher who played for the Cardinals from 1918 to 1930 and again in 1932. Sherdel was selected by the team's Red Ribbon Committee, which honors players from earlier eras.
The induction ceremony will take place later this season, cementing the legacies of three players who helped shape the proud history of the Cardinals franchise.
