The stage is set for a Champions League classic tonight as Paris Saint-Germain welcome Liverpool to the Parc des Princes for a heavyweight quarter-final first leg. This is a rematch of last season's thrilling round of 16 tie, and the atmosphere promises to be electric.

PSG, as reigning European champions and with Liverpool's form dipping slightly from their own title-winning campaign, enter as slight favourites. However, manager Luis Enrique has some key selection headaches to solve. The Spanish boss will be without the injured midfield duo of Fabián Ruiz and the pacy winger Bradley Barcola.

Despite those absences, Enrique is expected to field a formidable lineup. Matvey Safonov will start in goal, shielded by a back four of the marauding Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes as full-backs, with the experienced Marquinhos partnering Willian Pacho at centre-back.

The midfield sees a reshuffle due to Ruiz's absence, with the prodigious Warren Zaïre-Emery stepping in. He'll be flanked by the Portuguese control experts, Vitinha and João Neves, tasked with dictating the tempo against a relentless Liverpool press.

The real intrigue lies in the attack. On the left, the mercurial Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will look to weave his magic, while on the right, Désiré Doué—who memorably scored the winning penalty in last season's shoot-out—gets another chance to haunt the Reds. Leading the line will be none other than the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, Ousmane Dembélé, whose pace and trickery will be PSG's primary weapon.

Predicted PSG XI: Safonov; Mendes, Pacho, Marquinhos, Hakimi; Neves, Vitinha, Zaïre-Emery; Kvaratskhelia, Dembélé, Doué.
