Steven Pressley is set to shake things up once again as Dundee prepares for their season finale, but the Dark Blues boss has made it clear—this isn't just about giving players a runout. With a win against Aberdeen, Dundee could leapfrog into eighth place, and Pressley is determined to end the campaign on a high note.
The manager made eight changes for the midweek loss to Kilmarnock, a bold move that also saw 16-year-old Charley Oosenbrugh make his senior debut off the bench. Now, Pressley is ready to rotate again, offering fringe players a chance to shine in the final match of the season.
"This has very much been a group effort in terms of preserving our Premiership status," Pressley told DeeTV. "For many of these players, they probably felt they had been deserving of more minutes. Their attitude and the way they have supported the rest of the group has been exemplary. As a result, I wanted to give them the opportunity. So, the same again on Sunday."
But don't mistake this for a relaxed end-of-season affair. With Aberdeen's recent result opening the door, Pressley is eyeing a strong finish. "We also realize that if we were to win on Sunday, we could finish eighth, which is a good achievement. So we will certainly be going into that game wanting to win," he added.
For Dundee fans, this final match offers a glimpse of the future while keeping the competitive spirit alive—a perfect blend of opportunity and ambition as the season draws to a close.
