The highlights from April 17 games featuring Greater Lansing teams.

In a highly anticipated clash of top-five Division 4 teams, the Portland St. Patrick Shamrocks made a powerful statement with a nonleague doubleheader sweep of the Fulton Pirates. The Shamrocks, ranked No. 1, showcased their offensive firepower in a dominant 13-2 victory, followed by a 12-6 comeback win.

The opener was a showcase of efficiency, as Charlie Thelen launched a home run and drove in five runs to lead the charge. The Shamrocks' pitching was equally impressive, limiting Fulton to just two hits in a game shortened to five innings. The momentum carried into the second contest, where Mason Simon went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI, fueling a 12-run outburst over the final four frames to secure the sweep.

Elsewhere in Greater Lansing, several other teams delivered standout performances. Williamston's Brett Palmer was a force on both sides of the ball, going 3-for-3 with three RBI while also pitching a complete-game one-hitter in a win over Midland Dow. The Mason Bulldogs also secured a doubleheader sweep, powered by strong pitching from Gerrit Koot and Alex Engel, and a 3-for-4 performance from Ryan Myers in the opener.

Pitching prowess was on full display as Owosso's Jackson Sydow, Cy Thompson, and Eden Ackley combined for a no-hitter in their first game against Ovid-Elsie. Offensive explosions were also common, with Waverly's Dakota Sticker-Gatson going 3-for-3 with three RBI in one game, and Lansing Catholic's McKenna Maybee leading her team with a combined four hits and four RBI in a softball sweep of Ionia.
