Apr. 22—TRINITY — Ailey Sackett singled home a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to propel West Morgan past Brewer 5-4 in high school softball on Tuesday.

Chasity Rikard tripled and drove in a pair of runs for the Rebels, while Melea Harris and Hatleigh White added two hits and one RBI each. Alyssa Cleveland pitched all eight innings for the win, striking out four.

Kaelyn Matkin, Mackenzie Irmen and Taylor Pellem had one hit and one RBI each for Brewer.

West Morgan 5, Brewer 0: Rikard tossed a five-hit shutout for West Morgan, allowing two walks with six strikeouts over seven innings.

Cleveland, Payson Terry and Macie Treadway had one RBI each for the Rebels, while Rikard went 3-for-3 with a triple and one double.

Cadence Lott and AB Anton had two hits each for Brewer.

Athens 12, Muscle Shoals 1: Lexie Thornton hit a pair of home runs and drove in six in a big win for Athens.

Linsley Gillman had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs for the Golden Eagles, while Abby Lopez added a single and two RBIs. Lopez pitched four innings for the win, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts.

Priceville 12, Westminster Christian 0: Madison LaFountain had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs for Priceville.

Bailey Smyth had two hits and two RBIs for the Bulldogs, while Kelsey Green added a hit and two RBIs. Elizabeth Murphy pitched five scoreless innings for the win, allowing four hits with two strikeouts.

Lawrence County 5, Madison Academy 3: Bella Cross singled and drove in a pair of runs to lead Lawrence County.

Alivia Templeton had two hits and one RBI for the Red Devils and McKinley McCaghren pitched seven innings for the win, striking out eight.

Hatton 8, Brooks 7: Addie Brackin, Adley Brackin and Izzy Vinson had two RBIs each for Hatton.

Montana Headrick pitched all seven innings for the win, allowing three earned runs with three strikeouts.

Falkville 7, Vinemont 0: Karsyn Echols tossed a complete-game shutout for Falkville, allowing two hits and four walks over seven innings with 17 strikeouts.

Lily Slayton had two hits and two RBIs for the Blue Devils, while Echols added a pair of hits and one RBI.

Ardmore 5, Grissom 4: Fallon Broadway tripled and drove in a pair of runs for Ardmore.

Sulivan Smith had two doubles and one RBI for the Tigers, while Makena Hall added a pair of singles and one RBI. Broadway pitched 3 1/3 innings of hitless relief for the win, striking out two.

West Limestone 6, Hazel Green 5: Jaidin Hargrove went 3-for-4 with one RBI for West Limestone.

Aubrey Bethune homered and drove in two runs for the Wildcats, while Raelee Campbell added a single and one RBI. Anna Hardiman pitched all seven innings for the win, striking out seven.
