
Apr. 28—PRICEVILLE — In the final game at its home field located at the old Priceville high school, Priceville softball rolled to a big 8-2 win.
Kelsey Green had a huge day at the plate, going three-for-four with a home run and four RBIs. Elizabeth Murphy got the win in the circle, allowing five hits and two RBIs with six strikeouts in seven innings. She also added two hits at the plate, while Taylor Mize had a hit and two RBIs.
Priceville will play at its new field at the current high school beginning next season.
Hartselle 14, Hewitt-Trussville 2: Katie Norgard and RC Wolf each hit home runs as the top-ranked team in Class 6A rolled to a big win.
Norgard and Wolf each had two RBIs, while Amelia Fox finished with three hits and four RBIs and Aubree Peak had two hits and four RBIs.
East Limestone 12, Elkmont 1: Kailey Matthews hit two doubles and a triple and finished with four RBIs as East Limestone raced to a big win.
Morgan Stoudmire and Brooklyn Phillips each added two hits and two RBIs. Nyla Parker led Elkmont with two hits and an RBI.
Athens 15, James Clemens 0: Jazz Davis homered and finished with three hits and four RBIs as Athens cruised to a win.
Lexie Thornton added three hits and three RBIs, while Rayne Brewer had two hits and two RBIs.
Athens Bible 5, Whitesburg Christian 4: Addie Tucker pitched a complete game for Athens Bible, allowing five hits and four runs with 11 strikeouts.
