The Logansport Berries made a powerful statement in their Hoosier Conference East Division opener, rolling to an 11-2 victory over Tipton on Tuesday. The win at Jim Turner Field showcased a complete team effort, keeping the Berries' perfect record intact at 3-0.

On the mound, the trio of Josh Middleton, Jose Portilla, and Lucas Jones was dominant, combining for a four-hitter. Starter Middleton (2-0) battled through five innings, allowing two runs, while Portilla and Jones were flawless in relief, with Jones needing just seven pitches for a 1-2-3 seventh inning. It was a classic example of a pitching staff picking each other up, especially on a night when the ace didn't have his sharpest command.

The offense provided more than enough support, erupting for 12 hits. After falling behind 2-0, the Berries' bats came alive with a four-run third inning. They broke the game open with a five-run fourth, highlighted by back-to-back RBI triples from Kolten Hudson and Kuper Jones. That kind of explosive inning can demoralize an opponent and energize a dugout, a perfect recipe for a conference win.

Contributions came from up and down the lineup. Hudson Shank, Taylor Albright, and Grady Alexander each drove in multiple runs, demonstrating the lineup's depth. The Berries also capitalized on Tipton's defensive miscues, a hallmark of a disciplined, opportunistic team.

For a squad looking to build momentum, this was an ideal start to conference play. Winning comfortably allows a coach to manage the roster, build confidence up and down the lineup, and set a winning tone for the grueling schedule ahead. The Berries look locked in and ready for the next challenge.
