Greenville's softball team is on an absolute tear, extending their winning streak to 20 games after a dominant doubleheader sweep of West Carrollton on Wednesday, April 29. The Green Wave cruised to commanding 15-0 and 12-0 victories, showcasing both pitching prowess and explosive offense.

Ella Oswalt and Lizzie Shaffer were unhittable in the circle, each tossing five shutout innings to secure the wins. But Oswalt wasn't just dealing on the mound—she was a force at the plate, finishing the day with four hits, two home runs, and a staggering nine RBIs to lead the charge.

With the sweep, Greenville improves to 20-1 overall and 14-0 in the Miami Valley League, sitting tied atop the standings with undefeated Troy. The stage is set for a massive MVL showdown as these two powerhouses face off in a crucial series starting Friday, May 1, at Greenville, followed by Monday, May 4, at Troy.

In other action around the diamond, Centerville continued their dominant run, sweeping Miamisburg in a doubleheader with a 12-0 shutout in game one and a 9-2 win in game two. Luke Maciejewski and Ashton White combined on the first-game shutout, while Maciejewski went 4-for-4 at the plate in the nightcap. The Elks now sit at 15-2 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the GWOC.

Fairborn's Dillon Efaw delivered a masterpiece, striking out eight in a complete-game no-hitter to blank Piqua 3-0. Owen Lauderman collected two hits and scored two runs, while Westyn Williams drove in a run to support the stellar pitching effort.

Troy's baseball team also made headlines, extending their winning streak to seven games with a 7-3 victory over Stebbins, improving to 15-1 overall and 12-1 in the MVL. The Trojans' softball squad matched Greenville's streak, winning their 20th consecutive game with a 17-0 rout of Stebbins, moving to 14-0 in league play.

Greenville's baseball team joined the party, topping West Carrollton 14-4 behind a balanced attack. Jiji Jim, Isaac Kerg, and Gibson Steyer each drove in two runs to pace the Green Wave offense.

Urbana's Grady Lantz put on a power display, homering and driving in five runs, while Kevin Endres added a solo shot as Urbana scored six runs in the fifth inning to pull away from Bellefontaine 10-5.

Oakwood edged Brookville 2-0 in a pitchers' duel at Day Air Ballpark, scoring single runs in the third and sixth innings to secure the win.

Edgewood needed extra innings to snap a two-game skid, with Jase Gulley driving in Carson Downie for the game-winning run in the ninth inning to beat Franklin 5-4.

Covington and Milton-Union put on an absolute slugfest, combining for eight home runs in a wild 22-6 affair. Emalyn Johnson was the star for Covington, launching four homers, while Nell Rogers and Ava Hartwig each added one. Sophia Luciano and Bella Brazina went deep for Milton-Union.

Parkway rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun Elida 12-11, with Addison Dailey delivering the game-winning single.

It was a day of standout performances across the board, but all eyes now turn to the upcoming showdown between Greenville and Troy—a series that could decide the MVL title.
