The Philadelphia Eagles have officially kicked off their four-week offseason workout program, and the energy is already electric. With eight draft picks and roughly 10 undrafted free agents now on board, the 90-man roster is taking shape. This year's draft saw the Birds go all-in on offense, using their first five selections to add playmakers who could shape the future. Among them, wide receiver Makai Lemon and tight end Eli Stowers look ready to step into Day 1 roles, while offensive linemen Markel Bell and Micah Morris might need a season or two to develop before seeing the field in 2027.
On the defensive side, the Eagles added some intriguing depth, including Texas Tech safety Cole Wisniewski and New Mexico pass rusher Keyshawn James-Newby. There's also an exciting International Pathway Program participant, Uar Bernard, who could turn heads in camp. As OTAs and mandatory minicamp approach, here's an early prediction of how the depth chart might look when training camp rolls around.
Quarterback
Starter: #1 Jalen Hurts
Backup: #14 Tanner McKee
Third: #16 Andy Dalton
Jalen Hurts is already putting in work with new quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion, and the supporting staff is stacked. Josh Grizzard (pass game coordinator) and Jerrod Johnson (senior offensive assistant) bring a wealth of experience. Tanner McKee returns as the primary backup, while the Eagles traded a seventh-round pick to Carolina for veteran Andy Dalton, adding a steady hand. Rookie Cole Payton from North Dakota State rounds out the group, and all four could realistically make the 53-man roster.
Running Back
Starter: #26 Saquon Barkley
Backup: #8 Tank Bigsby
Third: #28 Will Shipley
Fourth: #39 Dameon Pierce
Depth: #34 Carson Steele
Saquon Barkley continues to be a workhorse, playing in 16 games last season and rushing for 1,140 yards on 280 carries (4.1 avg.) with seven touchdowns. He added 273 receiving yards and two more scores, becoming the first Eagles back since LeSean McCoy (2013-14) to post back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. Tank Bigsby, acquired in a trade, brings a hard-nosed style, recording 356 yards on 63 carries (5.7 avg.) and two touchdowns in 16 games. Will Shipley will battle for touches in a deep, talented backfield that also includes Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele. This group has the potential to be one of the most versatile in the NFC.
