The Cincinnati Bearcats have added more size to their 2026-27 roster with the addition of 6-foot-9, 240-pound power forward Jayden Hastings from Boston College. Hastings made his signing announcement via Instagram on April 28.

“Jayden is really going to help us defensively,” UC head coach Jarred Calhoun said. “He ranked 57th nationally in block percentage and played for a really good coach in Earl Grant. Jayden’s a wonderful kid and a great lob threat who is a guy I think we can really help offensively. He’ll have the ability to come in here from day one and bring that physical presence that you need in the Big 12.”

Hastings will be a junior. In his sophomore season, he averaged 6.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He shot 61.1% from the field and 50% from the free-throw line. He blocked 47 shots, just three less than Moustapha Thiam had for the Bearcats in 2025-26.

Hastings blocked at least three shots on seven occasions, including a career-high six blocks at Clemson in January.

Three times last season, Hastings scored 12 points, the last coming in a March 7 win over Notre Dame, where he added seven rebounds and two blocks. He had two double-doubles, with the most recent being a 10-point, 13-rebound effort over Syracuse in an overtime win. In March 2025, Hastings had an 18-point game vs. No. 11 Clemson, making all of his shots.

Hastings started 29 of the 31 games he appeared in for the Eagles. He was a four-star recruit out of high school, according to ESPN and Rivals, finishing his prep career at IMG Academy in Sarasota, Florida.
