Newcastle United locked horns with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the ninth minute when Eberechi Eze got his name on the scoresheet with a great finish. Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

The Tyneside club failed to find the leveller in the second 45 minutes and crashed to a tough 1-0 loss at the Emirates.

Pope made a few important saves at the back, but there was no clean sheet for him.

Guimaraes got stuck in with some solid tackles and made two key chances in the final third.
