The host city for the 2026 NFL Draft is already delivering memorable moments before the event takes place, and Pittsburgh Steelers fans are certainly getting in on the fun.

However, NHL supporters are also taking advantage of their moment by showing support for a Pittsburgh rival during ESPN’s draft coverage. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers are currently engaged in a heated all-Pennsylvania NHL Playoffs matchup.

Meanwhile, the Penguins fans are getting quite vocal about the team’s 3-0 series deficit heading into the NFL Draft. Philadelphia is back in the postseason for the first time since the 2019-2020 campaign, but the Penguins aren’t are hoping to overturn their tough start to the series.

Steelers fans are out in full force as the city expects to see over half a million NFL supporters throughout draft weekend. That comes after Green Bay posted a reported 600,000 fans last year when the NFL Draft went to Wisconsin.

However, Pittsburgh’s fanbase is getting relied up on ESPN’s draft broadcast after delivering a NSFW chant targeting the Flyers. The two Eastern Conference teams resume their series Saturday as the Flyers aim to close the series in Game 4.

Penguins and Steelers fans are extra on edge during the NFL Draft considering the current state of the football team. Many supporters are curious to learn more about the future of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The future NFL Hall of Famer hasn’t provided the team with any indication about his future with the team. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is coming off a season where legendary head coach Mike Tomlin left the organization.

Tomlin recently took on a new role at NBC Sports after spending decades with the Steelers.

New head coach Mike McCarthy has his first opportunity to make a big impression on the Steelers fanbase at the draft. Pittsburgh holds the no. 21 pick in the first round and the Steelers feature 12 total selections throughout draft weekend.
